Product Review – Miaderm Radiation Cream.

It’s important to keep your skin moisturized during radiation. External beam radiation can cause a radiation dermatitis.

Symptoms of Radiation Dermatitis 

  • dryness
  • itching,
  • redness and
  • inflammation

These symptoms can make the area receiving radiation very uncomfortable. 

It’s important to use something to protect the skin. Start using a good moisturizer from day one!

Miaderm is a water-based cream that was formulated and developed by radiation oncologists.

 

A few facts about Miaderm:

 

  • The active ingredient in Miaderm, calendula promotes wound healing and reduces inflammation. 
  • Contains artificial fragrance.
  • It is a thick cream that feels nice going on the skin.
  • It is not greasy or sticky. 

All moiturizers used during radiation therapy should be used 2-3 times a day, every day, 7 days a week.

Continue using the cream up to 2 to 3 weeks after radiation. 

The moisturizer should not be applied within 4 hours of going in for radiation. 

Do not use on open wounds, use only on closed skin.

A 4 oz tube should be plenty to get you through radiation. A little dab should cover a whole treatment area unless you have a fairly large treatment area.
