Are You Experiencing Radiation Dermatitis? Miaderm-L Can Help.

Several weeks of external beam radiation therapy treatments can cause radiation dermatitis. Are you experiencing Radiation Dermatitis?

The Symptoms of radiation dermatitis are:

  • Skin irritation
  • Itching,
  • Redness or inflammation.
  • A burning or stinging sensation.
  • Peeling or flaking of skin.
  • Dryness

If you find yourself experiencing any of these symptoms you will want to switch to a lotion that will provide symptom relief.

Product Review

One product that can provide that relief is Miaderm-L Radiation Relief.  Miaderm-L is a water-based cream that contains 4% lidocaine. It is the 4% lidocaine that will relieve the stinging, burning and itching sensation that you are feeling. Miaderm-L provides short-term relief. After application, you will feel relief for about thirty minutes to an hour.

Since this is water-based, your skin will pull the water in. This soothes the dryness you’re experiencing from treatment and allows your skin to heal faster from the skin reaction caused by your radiation. Miaderm-L contains fragrance and has a fruity scent.

This thin water-based cream goes on very easily. A little bit is going to go a long way and you won’t need to use a lot of this on your skin. One tube should last through one entire course of treatment.

Anytime that you’re using a cream that has lidocaine in it, you’re not going to want to use more than 3-4 times a day. I recommend only using it 2-3 times a day, 7 days a week.

Don’t put it on your skin within one hour of your radiation treatment.  Put it on after treatment, before bed and first thing in the morning. But don’t apply right before your treatment.

Do not use on skin that has any open wounds or oozing areas of skin. Your doctor will prescribe something different for you.
