8 Songs To Prepare You For Battle

Music is often considered a natural antidepressant. Music has the ability to change your mood, uplift your spirits and turn negative thoughts into positive thoughts. Music can cause the body to release hormones such as serotonin and norepinephrine as well as the neurotransmitter dopamine that will cause feelings of happiness and make you feel good.

Music can relieve stress, motivate you and even change your perception.  Music can cause tight  muscles to loosen and slow your rate of breathing, helping you to relax.

So the next time you are feeling a little down or anxious, listen to music to calm you down and make yourself feel better. Below are the eight songs that put me in a good mood and make me ready to fight any battle.

Victory – Yolanda Adams

Fight Song – Rachel Platt

I’m a Survivor – Destiny’s Child

I’m a Winner – Jamie Foxx

I didn’t Know my own Strength – Whitney Houston

I’m Still Standing  – Elton John

Spirit Indistructible – Nelly Furtado

Yes You Can – Marvin Sapp

Whenever I need a little pick me up or that urge to cry hits me, I listen to my fight song playlist and I feel better. If you have songs that speak to you, form a good playlist and keep it handy. Sometimes you need a pick me up as you are sitting in the waiting room at the doctors’ office or waiting on a test or procdure. Put those headphones on and rock the anxiety away.

Beautifully Yours - Dr Tonya Cole
